Frequently Asked Questions

What do you specialize in?

As a biracial therapist based in California and Tennessee, I bring a culturally informed perspective to therapy, enhancing my ability to connect with clients from diverse backgrounds. My practice is enriched by my multicultural experiences, enabling me to build strong therapeutic relationships grounded in trust and understanding. I specialize in supporting teens, young adults, and adults, who are navigating challenges such as overwhelming anxiety, profound loss, or complex relationships. With my unique background and expertise, I provide personalized and effective therapy to help clients achieve their goals and foster growth and healing.

Why start therapy?

Therapy provides a supportive environment where individuals can freely explore their thoughts, emotions, and concerns without fear of judgment. The decision to engage in therapy is a personal one, often made by children, young adults, adults, and their families. Some individuals seek therapy to address longstanding mental health issues like depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, addiction, PTSD, or grief and loss. Others turn to therapy to develop coping strategies, enhance personal growth, or improve life skills. Therapy can also be invaluable during periods of transition or stress, such as family changes, bereavement, transitioning into adulthood, facing bullying, or coping with trauma. Ultimately, therapy is suitable for anyone seeking self-discovery and striving to make positive changes in their well-being, relationships, or daily life.

How will I know therapy is over?

Knowing when therapy is complete is a significant aspect of the therapeutic journey. As a therapist, I believe therapy concludes when you have achieved your desired goals, experienced substantial personal growth, and developed the necessary tools to navigate life's challenges independently. It's not just about symptom relief but also about building resilience and enhancing your overall well-being. We will collaboratively assess your progress throughout our sessions, and together, we will determine when you feel confident in applying what you've learned outside the therapy room to live your life autonomously. Whether you seek resolution for a specific issue or ongoing support for personal development, I am dedicated to empowering you to reach a point where you feel ready to move forward confidently in your life journey.

How much does therapy cost?

I charge $165 for individuals and $175 for couples and families for a 50 minute session. I accept all major credit cards. Although I do not take insurance, I provide you with a superbill at the end of each month that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
